The BMC staff, especially of T Ward, are not serious about safeguarding the
hygienic conditions of the citizens because their garbage vans are not even
covered properly. Also, they do not spray insecticides like DDT after clearing
the garbage bins, which results in the emanation of foul smells and causes air
pollution. This might also lead to the spread of air-borne diseases. The BMC
and the State Health Ministry must take serious note of these shortcomings in
the garbage cleaning operations.
